Shunda Leecost

Shunda Leecost joined Microsoft in 2021 after spending over a decade in the management consulting industry working at several “Big 4” firms with a focus on solving challenges impacting people. Utilizing her superpower to dissect complex challenges facing organizations, she helped stakeholders identify human centered approaches needed to address systemic issues and develop innovative solutions.

As the leader of the Racial Equity Initiative program under Microsoft’s Airband Initiative, Shunda is committed to advancing access to broadband internet as a fundamental right for unserved and underserved Black and marginalized communities. Her projects aim to increase affordable internet access, promote participation in the internet-enabled global economy, and foster adoption of Artificial Intelligence tools in these communities.

A true servant leader, Shunda is actively involved in various community organizations including Jack and Jill of America, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the Junior League of Washington. She holds a BA in English from Howard University and lives in Washington, DC with her husband Jason, and sons Miles and Carter.
